Did you know the saying "Dog Days of Summer" dates all the way back to Greek & Roman Times? Its actually a reference to Sirius (the Dog Star), which is the brightest star in the night sky and literally means 'scorching.'
Hellenistic astrology connected this time of year with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs and bad luck. We've all experienced a little of all of the above! Well... hopefully not the mad dogs or the bad luck!
Summer always starts up at such a fast pace. As we settle into the meteorological summer, we maybe start to take pause. We know the warms days are fleeting and there is a desire to savor the moment.
We have the perfect event coming up that does just that: Yoga Sound Nidra on Wednesday July 31st from 7-8PM. Sound Nidra, or Sound Bath, is an immersion in deep sound vibrations that resets the energy centers. Randi Henning will be using Tibetan bowls, crystal singing bowls, chimes & drums to bathe you in resonating frequencies, soothing tones & healing vibrations. As you listen to the sounds and drift on the vibrations, you will relax, realign energy centers and release unwanted thoughts and tensions. You will feel calmer, loosen muscle tension, improve mood and become from in tune with your body system. Preregistration is recommended! Check it out under the Classes Tab.
Thanks to all of our fabulous yogis who helped finance our new awesome signs, made by Jim Bohnhoff. He did a fabulous job. We are fully visible!
You all make this studio what it is: a diverse, safe space to explore moving, breathing & community. And always a cool 74 degrees. We are always grateful for you and your yoga energy.
All the Summer Love from River Flow Yoga.
