Joseph Campbell says “When you follow your bliss, doors will open where you would not have thought there to be doors.” When I saw the ideal space become available right downtown northfield, I immediately got the ball rolling to open the yoga studio. It all started with contacting the amazing teachers who graciously agree to be a part of this yoga journey. Door one, open! Like many people, I came to yoga after an injury, breaking my back in 2000. Experiencing the yoga buzz, left me with no doubt that there is a strong mind/body connection. I’ve come to see yoga as such a helpful road map for life: the physical practice, the mental engagement, the Yamas & Niyamas, yoga principles that help me to be a better human. This community is rich with beautiful people who have supported this idea from the start. This is your yoga home and all of us look forward to meeting you where you are in life and sharing the journey of yoga with you. I am a passionate foodie, a lover of art & design, and grateful for my master brewer husband and my dog Bella, who teaches me every day how to be a better yogi.

As a kid, I took every dance class I could find, and I danced/coached a total of 14 years before hanging up my dance shoes (and loud dance coach claps!) to spend more time with my family. I kept active, but without the movement of dance, I felt incomplete. In 2010 I approached yoga as a possible answer to this void. Like many people, I was in it for the asana at first, immediately hooked, as I fell in love with the way I felt. My mat became a place I could go to work out my body, as well as work out whatever was on my mind. I graduated from Heartwork Teacher Training 2014. I love teaching all kinds of classes, especially Barre. When not on my mat, I’m teaching fifth graders, reading, walking & spending time with my daughters, husband & dog, Leonard.

I found my love for yoga and barre in 2015. My practice became more that just a physical workout, but a mental meditation leading to a deeper understanding of myself. How I felt walking out of each class inspired me to want to teach others. I live in Northfield with my husband Derek, 2 year old son Louie, and our dog Moose. I am a registered nurse, so when not at the hospital, I turn to yoga to find balance. In my free time, you can find me getting lost exploring in the woods, spending time with family, or participating in multiple different sports. I hope to see you in class!

In 2009, I thought yoga would be a good idea as a way to take care of my body after many years of running. I immediately fell in love with all of the aspects of yoga. During the pandemic, my practice waned, as I really wanted to be practicing in person at a studio. Once River Flow suddenly appeared, I was “all in” and, after several years of being a student of different styles of yoga, I decided it was time for teacher training in the summer of 2023. I love practicing with others, and teaching gentle (or slow) flow, Yin, and Hatha classes. I enjoy making yoga accessible to everyone through modifications and using props creatively. I look forward to breathing, moving and growing stronger together!

I discovered yoga in 2009 while searching for a path towards healing. As my practice deepened, I experienced how the power of breath, movement, and present moment awareness can lead to a more embodied life. I completed my 200 hour training through Core Power Yoga in 2013, and have been teaching in various setting since. I have additional training in Yin yoga, trauma-informed yoga and reiki. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all to explore movement and reconnect with the body and breath. Off the mat, I work full time for the Department of Public Safety and enjoy reading, playing games and spending time outdoors with my family.

I started attending barre classes over 15 years ago and loved it so much I got certified and taught at Heartwork Studios for several years. Over the years, I have explored many different types of exercise and movement but always come back to barre. Barre is the BEST workout. It is total body, always hard, and is for EVERYONE! I live and work in Northfield teaching elementary school and helps run Little Hill Berry farm with my husband. I looks forward to seeing you at the barre!

I have been leading yoga classes since 2014 in a studio setting, college setting, and during the pandemic, from my dining room turned studio. I have led over 2000 hours of classes. A philosophy major in college, I enjoy continuing to learn and have sought out books and workshops led by Indu Arora and Judith Hanson Lasater, among others. I am a certified Relax and Renew Teacher (Level 1) and value the way a yoga practice (anywhere, anytime) creates the opportunity to come home to oneself and to let go of tension. I aim to offer an environment of calm as a basis for exploring movement and allowing a window of opportunity to drop into our simpler, freer selves. I also enjoy walking the family dogs, hiking, downhill skiing and spending time with my family and friends.

I took my first yoga class in 2004 and was instantly drawn to the exploration of movement and breath. Through life’s many chapters, yoga has always had a place. During times of injury when other activities weren’t accessible, yoga was always available in one form or another.
I am passionate about the harmony created between mind, body, and spirit in an asana practice and guiding others on this journey. As a natural introvert, finding new strength, stability, and openness on my mat has helped me to embody these attributes in other areas of life. I completed the 200 hour teacher training program at Yandara Yoga Institute. Aside from yoga, I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, and a good game of cards.

My yoga journey started in 2022 when i was working at a gym and went to my first yoga class there. The first class i took was really rough. I continued to go and found a teacher that really resonated with me. She inspired me to pursue teaching myself. Later that year i took my 230hour YTT at the Yoga Center Retreat in St. Louis Park. In September of 2023 i finished my training. The training really opened my eyes to what yoga can be and how it can connect the physical and mental experience. Outside of yoga i work at the Co-op in Northfield and find joy through sewing and other creative outlets.

Daisy Christopherson
Daisy Christopherson, DPT, began practicing physical therapy in 2003 after graduating from the University of MN with her clinical doctorate in physical therapy. Within a few years, she began integrating breathwork and yoga movements into her clients’ therapy programs, as those patients who took control of their own healing had the best results.
She took her RYT certification at SunMoon Yoga in Mankato in 2006, and taught at Heartwork Yoga for 15 years. She now teaches a weekly virtual class via yogabydaisy.com and works as a PT at Northfield Physical Therapy. She loves teaching patients and students how to heal themselves by changing their movement patterns.
In her free time, she loves cross-country skiing, running, strength training, reading novels and camping with her family, which includes her husband Michael, children Bella and Nilo, and little dog Paprika.

Yoga reflects my desire to grow in strength, balance & flexibility in mind, body & spirit. Since teaching my first yoga class in 2010, to studying Somayoga in 2014, my goal is simple: to help people do the activities they love to do without pain, throughout their lives. In my work as a geriatric nurse practitioner I see pain syndromes that can be prevented, loss of function that can be averted and anxiety & depression that can be alleviated with simple somatic and yoga practices. As I continue on my own healing journey, it is my privilege to share what I’ve learned with others. In addition to my family and yoga, my other loves are our Cavapoo, Lenah, vegetable & flowers gardening, spending time outdoors and cross country skiing.

I completed my yoga teacher training in 2015 and am so grateful to be a life-long student of the practice of yoga. I love being part of building a yoga community that provides a space that is safe, supportive & inviting. Combining breath, movement and focused intention, offers all students opportunities to better connect with themselves, each other & the greater world around us. When not teaching or practicing yoga, I can be found hiking, biking, traveling and spending time with family & friends who bring such light & joy to my life.

Time on my mat allows me to listen to what types of movement might feel good, to have awareness of my body, what it’s craving, how it can be challenged, how it can support me and how it needs rest. Yoga has been my favorite form of movement for many years and I'm thankful for the people, teachers, places, ideas and methods that have enriched my life.
I’ve been a group fitness instructor for 15 years - teaching many formats - and have recently completed my 200 hr training with Yandara Yoga. I teach ECFE, enjoy going to the lake, traveling, playing cards and making good food. I love picnics - even in the winter!

Cindy Carver
I was 17 when I was introduced to yoga at the Banff Centre for the Arts. I fell in love with the practice, but the affair was short, and I didn’t pay attention to yoga again until I was 40 years old. One day I decided I needed to feel better fast. On a whim, not feeling wildly optimistic, I walked into a yoga studio near my home, and after one class I was in love again. Yoga brought me out of my tumble and back to the living. I began my first yoga teacher training program in 2002. Two years later, I completed my “Relax and Renew” certification in restorative yoga with Judith Lasater. In 2017 I was certified in yoga therapy by the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
The yoga I teach offers what I think we need most these days: kindness, clarity, safety, and ease. I am a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) and member of the Yoga Alliance (E-RTY-500). I teach in yoga training programs, and conduct workshops throughout the United States. A student of Tibetan Buddhism for 18 years, I am an authorized meditation teacher.
Yoga sustained and supported me as things fell apart. Yoga and meditation teach me that yielding to life is better than fighting it. Most days I forget the lesson. Then I practice and teach and remember.

Simply said…..I love to teach and I love to learn. That’s a good thing since I’ll be starting my 40th year as an elementary school teacher.
My love of learning also lead me on a journey of self-care. Many years ago I began the practice of Tai Chi. Then I trained in children’s yoga, 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher training. Yoga pointed me in the direction of restorative yoga training with Judith Hanson Lasater. How blessed I was to cross paths with Gracia McKinley to learn somatic education. Now, my practice includes sound healing. Bathing in harmonious notes to gently rest and balance our entire body, mind and soul.
Another love……is the joy of sharing my passions with others, to quiet the “noise” inside our bodies and minds. That is self-care.

Kate Wolfe
Kate Wolfe, owner of Whispers of Life Doula LLC, is a Trauma Conscious and Yin Yoga Guide (RYT200), in addition to being a trained End of Life Doula.
Kate began her yoga practice back in 2011, as a caregiver in need of an embodied self-care practice. In 2023 she completed her 200 hours of study of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga through Radiant Life Yoga in Minneapolis & continues her 300 hour study at Svälja Whole Being in Duluth, MN, journey that began in 2024 with their Trauma Conscious yoga training. Kate describes the course as part of her dharma (life) path, as it led her to dive deeper into her body and heart’s inner knowing through the practice of yoga. This path and education has shown her how to create and guide gentle spaces for those who are experiencing loss, in the form of anticipatory grief or bereavement, or those who may struggle to find safety within themselves.
When she’s not practicing or guiding yoga classes, she enjoys: reading historical fiction, baking or cooking with her partner, or going for hikes with her sweet pup (Kip).”

I started my yoga practice in 2010 when I was experiencing occasional panic attacks and low back pain. It immediately became a normal part of my life. I graduated from yoga teacher training with my RYT from Heartwork in 2018 & have been teaching since 2019. I teach a variety of styles; yin, relaxation, slow flow, vinyasa flow and beginner yoga. i can't pick a favorite style to teach- I love them all!
I am from Northfield and currently live in Dundas with my husband., stepson & 2 dogs. I love being a teacher and hope to see you soon on the mat!

I am so excited to be a part of this awesome group of people who are all doing something we love. I started taking yoga classes in 2000 at a racquetball club here in town. Yoga was new to me, but soon I was hooked and couldn't wait to learn more. I was part of the (legendary) first teacher training group to come out of Heartwork, then was given the opportunity to teach there. I also taught at Prema yoga studio. The style of yoga I like to teach is Vinyasa. I love the breath body connection, i like to have fun & want my classes to be that way too. Whether you are new to yoga, or a seasoned yogi, I want you to fee comfortable joining my class.
In my non-yoga life I like to spend time with my family, workout, go hiking, camp, play with my grandson & hang with. my puppers.

I taught my first barre class on my birthday in 2019 and it turned out to be one of the best birthday gifts I've given myself. I had discovered barre a few years prior as a way to stay active in my off seasons from sports and dance classes and was instantly hooked. The music, tempo and ballet roots melded together rendered it one of the most (painfully) enjoyable work outs I had done. Not only did I see rapid physical results with each class I attended, but I also started to gain a sense of confidence in my self and my body. This is ultimately why I wanted to become an instructor- to inspire this feeling in others as well. I love helping my students be positive and proud of their bodies regardless of their fitness background when they step into my class. As long as you're prepared to jam out to some good music and get your shimmy on, i guarantee we will have a great time in barre together.
Away from barre, I work full time as a Human Resources professional and enjoy spending time with my family and fur baby, Ricci.

I found yoga in 2009, during my rehabilitation from a sports-related back injury in high school. Like so many others, I was quickly hooked when I experienced the healing that ran (and continues to run) so much more deeply than just in my physical body. I completed my 200-hour teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2014, and have taught in various settings for a wide demographic of students since then. I love challenging myself and others to slow down, reminding students that slow doesn't necessarily mean easy. Off the mat, i enjoy making music, horseback riding, and all things homesteading. Above all else, I cherish spending time with my husband and our two beautiful children.
